How we verify

The WomELLE Verified badge means our team has reviewed the business and confirmed three things. Every Showcase earns it through the review, and paying for a Showcase never skips it.

  1. Ownership

The owner shows that women own the majority of the business. We review the documents and keep them private.

  2. A real, working business

We confirm the business is registered, has a working website or storefront, and can be reached by phone or email.

  3. A conversation

Someone from WomELLE speaks with the owner, so every Verified business has a name and a face behind it.

The badges you will see

  • WomELLE Verified. Ownership confirmed by the WomELLE team.
  • WomELLE Member. Part of the WomELLE community.
  • Verification in review. The business has applied and WomELLE is confirming ownership.

What the badge is not

It is not an official government or corporate certification, and it is not a guarantee of quality. If a contract requires formal certification, apply through the certifying organization named in that contract.
