The Referral Room is a quarterly gathering where women come together with one purpose: to help the right people find one another.

You’ll have a chance to tell the room who you are, what you do, who you help, and one specific connection or opportunity you’re looking for right now.

Maybe you want to meet someone in HR. You’re looking for a podcast introduction. You need a photographer in your city. You want to connect with a retailer. You’re looking for a particular type of client, professional, collaborator, speaker, or resource.

Then the conversation turns around.

Listen to what other women are looking for and think about the people in your own network. You may not be able to help directly, but you may know someone who can.

The Referral Room isn’t about collecting contacts or handing out as many referrals as possible. It’s about understanding one another well enough to recognize when a meaningful connection can be made.

What You’ll Get From the Room

You’ll practice being specific about what you need and learn more about the women around you, what they do, who they serve, and what doors they’re trying to open.

You may leave with an introduction, a useful contact, a resource, a potential collaboration, or someone who now understands your work well enough to think of you when the right opportunity comes up.

You’ll also have the opportunity to be that person for someone else.

Not every request will result in an immediate referral. The value is also in becoming known and knowing who is in your circle.

Who Should Attend?

The Referral Room is for women who want to build professional relationships that can lead to meaningful introductions and opportunities.

It can be useful whether you’re building a business, growing your career, looking for clients, hiring, searching for collaborators, seeking speaking or media opportunities, expanding into a new industry, or simply trying to meet the right people.

You don’t need a huge network to participate.

You just need to be willing to tell the room what you need and listen for where you might be able to help someone else.

Why Should You Attend?

Because a full contact list is not the same as having people who know you.

People can’t make a thoughtful introduction if they don’t understand what you do or who you’re trying to meet.

The Referral Room creates time for those conversations intentionally.

Instead of hoping the right person happens to hear about you, you get to clearly say what you're looking for while learning what the women around you need too.

And because we meet quarterly, there is time between Referral Rooms to make introductions, follow up, build relationships, and see where those connections lead.

What to Bring

Come prepared with three things:

Who you are and what you do.
Keep it simple enough for someone else to remember.

One specific ask.
Think about the person, introduction, resource, or opportunity that would be useful to you right now.

A willingness to listen.
Pay attention to what other women need. Someone in your network may be exactly who another woman is trying to find.

What to Expect

90 minutes. Structured introductions, specific asks, conversation, and connection matching.

This is a participatory room, not a presentation. You’ll have an opportunity to share, but you’ll spend just as much time learning about the women around you.

No pressure to manufacture a referral on the spot. If you recognize a genuine connection, make it. If you don’t, listen and remember.

The right introduction can start with one person remembering your name at the right time.
