Bloom Safety Guidelines

Bloom is a human-led emotional support space for women who feel overwhelmed, invisible, or stretched too thin. Our goal is to help you feel lighter and more connected to yourself, not to replace therapy or professional care. These guidelines protect both you and the companions who walk beside you here.

1. What Bloom Is and Is Not

Bloom is a space for emotional care, not clinical treatment. We provide gentle support through listening, reflection, and guided emotional tools that help you slow down and reconnect with your inner voice.

Bloom is not therapy, medical care, or crisis intervention.

Our companions do not diagnose, prescribe medication, or provide counseling under any license.

If you ever need immediate help, please reach out to your local emergency services or one of these hotlines:

  • United States: 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988)
  • Canada: Talk Suicide Canada 1-833-456-4566
  • UK: Samaritans 116 123
  • Other countries: Find international options at findahelpline.com

2. Confidentiality and Respect

Confidentiality is central to trust. What you share in Bloom stays private within our small care team.

Your companion may keep short, confidential notes about your sessions to support follow-up and continuity. These notes are stored securely and are not shared outside the Bloom team.

We ask that all members and companions treat one another with respect and kindness.

This includes:

  • Keeping language supportive and nonjudgmental
  • Respecting time limits and communication boundaries
  • Avoiding personal contact outside the Bloom platform

Harassment, disrespectful comments, or harmful behavior of any kind are not tolerated and may result in membership removal.

3. Emotional Safety

Bloom is a space where you can speak openly about your emotions — stress, grief, loss, anger, confusion, or fear.

We encourage honest sharing but within limits that protect your well-being.

To keep the space emotionally safe, we ask that you:

  • Avoid graphic descriptions of self-harm, violence, or trauma
  • Use "I" statements to describe your feelings rather than naming or blaming others
  • Respect your own boundaries and stop when you feel overwhelmed

Companions are trained to help you pause, ground, and breathe when emotions feel heavy. They may gently redirect conversations to ensure safety and calm.

4. Crisis or Risk Situations

If at any time a companion believes you may be at risk of harm — to yourself or others — they will immediately contact our Care Coordinator. The Care Coordinator may reach out to local emergency contacts or crisis services to ensure your safety.

This step is taken only to protect you and is handled with compassion and discretion. We will always inform you if such action is necessary and explain what will happen next.

5. Boundaries and Communication

Our companions are real people trained to listen and guide, not to act as therapists or personal friends.

They cannot accept or send gifts, money, or personal favors.

To protect your privacy, all communication must remain inside approved Bloom channels such as text, voice message, or secure calls. Personal contact outside these spaces (social media, personal phone, or email) is not allowed.

Companions have scheduled hours of availability.

Messages sent outside those times will be answered as soon as possible, but Bloom is not designed for on-call or emergency response.

6. Recordings and Data Security

Bloom sessions are not recorded unless you give written consent for a specific purpose, such as a personal reflection recording or training sample.

All notes and communications are stored on secure, encrypted servers.

Your information is used only to provide consistent care and improve your experience.

Data is deleted after your membership ends or sooner if you request removal.

7. Your Rights as a Member

You have full rights over your information and your participation in Bloom. You may:

  • Request a summary or copy of your session notes
  • Ask for notes or personal data to be deleted at any time
  • Change, pause, or cancel your membership whenever needed
  • Choose how you prefer to be contacted (text, email, or voice)
  • Decline to answer any question or participate in any activity that feels uncomfortable

We respect your autonomy. You control your pace and your experience.

8. Companion Conduct and Care Standards

All Bloom companions complete training in emotional listening, confidentiality, boundaries, and cultural sensitivity.

They receive ongoing supervision and peer support to maintain ethical and compassionate care.

If you ever feel uncomfortable with a companion's behavior, you may contact our Care Coordinator directly inside your account. We take every concern seriously and will respond quickly and respectfully.

9. Our Promise

We promise to hold space for you with honesty, privacy, and care.

Your story and your emotions belong to you.

We are here to listen, reflect, and help you find small steps toward calm and clarity.

You deserve a place where you can breathe and feel safe again.

That is what Bloom was created to give.
