I thought reaching the goal would quiet everything. It didn't. There was something no one prepared me for about achieving exactly what I worked toward.
I wasn't rebuilding my career. I was rebuilding myself. And that's a much harder, stranger thing to explain to people who knew you before.
Nothing went wrong. Everything just changed. And somehow that's one of the loneliest feelings to try and explain.

These stories came to us in different shapes. Some of them are about romantic love. Some are about friendship. Some are about the love a woman has for her work, her children, her own complicated self. All of them are about what it costs to love something fully.

I Am the Voice Publication is the evolution of WomELLE Magazine, first published in 2017. As WomELLE grew, the publication grew with it. Today, it continues as I Am the Voice Publication, holding real stories of work, life, change, and emotional truth.
This is a living publication created to hold real experiences shared by women navigating leadership, work, care, grief, growth, and change. It is a place for honesty over polish, for reflection over performance, and for voices that do not always have neat endings. This publication exists so women can speak in their own words about what they are carrying right now. Some stories are quiet. Some are unfinished. Some are hard to name. All of them are welcome here.
